Hanwha Eagles broke the record of selling out the most home games in KBO history again.

At a home game against KT Wiz of the 2025 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League held at Hanwha Life Ball Park in Daejeon on Sunday, the team sold out 17,000 seats in total. Hanwha announced the sellout at 4:45 p.m., about two hours before the game began. It is Hanwha's 28th sellout of the season, and a new record for 24 consecutive home games.스포츠토토

Hanwha is setting a new KBO record for selling out consecutive home games with fans this season following last season. Hanwha set a new KBO record by selling out 17 consecutive home games from Daejeon Lotte on Oct. 16, 2023, to Daejeon SSG on May 1, 2024, and broke this record directly in one season.

Hanwha has not only broken the record of home games but also home and away games this season. All of the matches between Sajik Lotte on April 24, Daejeon KT on April 25-27, Daejeon LG on April 29-30 and Gwangju KIA on May 2 and 4, Daejeon Samsung on May 5-7, and Gocheok Kiwoom on September 11 were all sold out. 

After the game against SSG Landers was canceled due to rain on the 16th, the doubleheader on the 17th and the Sunday game on the 18th were all sold out, setting a new home and away record for 20 consecutive games. Since the 20th, this record has been broken at Ulsan Stadium, the temporary home of the NC Dinos.

The Hanwha Eagles is continuously making a new history in the league as home games have been sold out in consecutive years in the first year of the new stadium. The total number of spectators who attended the 31 home games so far stood at 524,268, with an average of 16,911 people attending each game on average. Only three games have not been sold out so far, and seating capacity amounts to 99.5 percent.

Meanwhile, Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon visited the game to cheer for the team. "The Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon visited Daejeon Stadium around 5:30 p.m.," the Hanwha team said. "We visited the Eagles, who have been performing well since Chairman Kim Seung-yeon's visit, to encourage the Eagles and to thank the fans for their constant support."

However, Hanwha lost 0-7 on the day. Having lost two consecutive games, Hanwha had to be satisfied with the winning series, with 36 wins and 25 losses. KT, which lost three consecutive games on the day, posted a season record of 31 wins, three draws and 28 losses.

The Hanwha Eagles met KT starter Enmanuel de Heysus and failed to get a hit after leadoff hitter Esteban Floral's hit in the bottom of the first inning, leading the game to 0-4 until the fifth inning. Ahn allowed solo home runs, and again, Ahn and Jang Sung-woo gave timely hits.

Even Ryu Hyun-jin, who took the mound as a starting pitcher, complained of discomfort in his physical condition, and was substituted for four runs in the fourth inning. "Ryu Hyun-jin complained of discomfort in his left adductor muscle and replaced him to protect the player. He is currently undergoing icing and has not been moved to the hospital," Hanwha said on Ryu's physical condition. Following Ryu, Cho Dong-wook took the mound.

After giving up three more points, KT avoided a "sweeping loss" and won one game in the series
